Profile
Mikal Bencze brings to Hadley 15 years of entrepreneurial spirit, drive and managerial success garnered from owning her own businesses and extensive not-for-profit administration.
As an integral member of the largest urban ceramic center in 2000, Mikal implemented procedures that helped streamline the membership and online marketing systems. While helping to get a small art center off the ground in Davidson, NC she deftly served in all positions from Program Development to Instructor, Gallery Manager and interim Executive Director. Mikal has a firm grasp on critical aspects of business and community outreach from working comprehensively in the not-for-profit arena. While at an Arts Center in Northern NJ, in just three years, she not only increased gallery revenue by 30%, she significantly cut operating costs and honed the first record breaking fundraising event in the 40 year history of the school. Concurrently, she polished her sales skills supplying art galleries, high-end retail stores and boutiques internationally and from across the country with handcrafted, designed in the USA, fine silver jewelry from an American designer.
While both of her own businesses center around a Fine Arts background, many of those management skills transfer seamlessly with Real Estate. While in NC she created an innovative arts service which brought ceramic programming to summer camps that could not supply this service on their own. In 2009 she launched Micari Arts in Philadelphia where she successfully designs and creates a line of one-of-a-kind handmade ceramics for the home.
Mikal holds a BFA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, studied under a Master potter in Gubbio, Italy, and is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the State of New Jersey.
